Big news - in August I moved from my apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn to Corktown, Detroit with my boyfriend, Justin. I made a big leap and quit my day job in the fast fashion industry and decided to pursue A Wool Story full time.
The spirit of small business entrepreneurship is contagious here in Detroit. It's so inspiring to see many young business owners with thriving shops to prove it's possible! I look forward to collaborating with the community and local businesses to grow A Wool Story to it's full potential.
Running a business is no joke! It's been a hustle the last month getting my Autumn/Winter 2015 collection together and making A Wool Story a legal business in the state of Michigan, but it's so worth it. Every day that I get to spend entirely dedicated to creating work and doing what I love is such a gift. I'm truly blessed to have such supportive friends and family that inspire and motivate me to follow my dreams.
I look forward to being a part of Detroit's new beginnings. There's no denying Detroit is a place with history - the amazing architecture will tell you that much. Detroit has been through a rough period, and it's so exciting to see and be a part of the change. There is nothing like riding my old yellow bicycle around the city and breathing in all the potential.
